Many Hufflepuffs have often been made fun of but it is characters like Newt Scamander that give the house a beautiful character to look up to.

When it comes to Newt Scamander, he is a complicated character but he gave Hufflepuffs someone to look to that wasn’t just made fun of for being someone who is a particularly good finder. To be fair though, Newt Scamander is, in fact, a particularly good finder because his whole deal is that he goes searching for magical beasts (and where to find them).

He isn’t the only Hufflepuff though that brought pride to the house. Cedric Diggory also was one of the first Hufflepuffs we met in the books and he stood against the Triwizard Tournament until his dying breath.

All this to say is that we end up giving Hufflepuffs a bad name when they, in a lot of ways, are the strongest house. They’re good at what they do, they’re loyal, and they’re willing to protect those they love and do what is necessary because it is what makes them a Hufflepuff.

While a Gryffindor would run into battle, a Slytherin would find a way out, or a Ravenclaw would get too literal about something, a Hufflepuff would do what they needed to do to be there for their loved ones and that’s a beautiful lesson that often gets lost in mocking them.

Hufflepuffs like Newt Scamander and Cedric Diggory are the reason why Hufflepuffs have started to be taken seriously but maybe we should just start to appreciate all the Hogwarts houses and their abilities for those in them.
