Doctor Who season 12 continues this Sunday on BBC America and we’re all not really sure what to expect. But now that we’ve done the whole big splashy two-part premiere, it feels like it’s time to settle in with a bit more of a traditional story. Or at least that’s what it looks like so far.

(You know, if you trust trailers and all that. It is Doctor Who after all.)

But, the idea feels about right. For all that it seems like the show is adopting a season-long arc after season 11’s decision to be completely standalone, that doesn’t mean that every episode will – or even should – tie into the whole new Gallifrey mystery. Plus, the idea that Team TARDIS might want to jet off for a relaxing weekend makes no small amount of sense after everyone nearly died multiple times last week. I get it.

Entitled “Orphan 55,” the gist of the story is that Thirteen and friends head to a luxury resort named Tranquillity Spa for some well deserved R&R. (Yes, that’s really how it’s spelled; my spellcheck hates me right now.) Of course, because this is Doctor Who, what they find instead are some dark secrets and what may or may not be some monsters. As usual!
