There are very few new episodes of The Good Place remaining in our lives right now. Which is a very sad thought as we keep marching toward the series finale on January 30th.
But until then, we’ll live in our happy little oblivious bubble that it’s coming to an end at all and just be happy for its return after a mini winter hiatus.
In case you missed it, the official synopsis for this week’s episode:
"“The group works to negotiate an afterlife plan with Sean and the judge.”"
The episode title, “You’ve Changed, Man,” really feels like it could be a slight from Sean toward Michael. Which would make sense in the context of the synopsis and the plan of trying to save the universe.
But it’s also just as possible that it’s a line uttered by Michael towards Chidi. At the end of the last episode, Chidi awoke from his frozen state with 800-plus rebooted memories in his head and looking more sure of himself than we’ve ever seen him.
He’s changed, man. Or at least that’s what The Good Place wants us to believe until they pull the rug out from under our feet for the umpteenth time.
Whatever happens next, everyone is in it together, all of the various Janets included. And possibly also the demons from the Bad Place. That part’s still a little up in the air. We’ll have to see how Sean falls this week and if his coworkers follow suit.
