What’s new in January for PlayStation Plus members?

It’s a new year and a new month, and with it comes the PlayStation Plus offerings! This month offers one solid game and one ridiculous one.

PlayStation never ceases to surprise its Plus members when it comes to their two free games every month. And 2020 looks to be no different in that regard.

Below are the two new offerings for PlayStation Plus members in January:

  • Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
  • Goat Simulator

Check out the announcement trailer below:

OK, let’s start with the more ridiculous one first: Goat Simulator. It’s Untitled Goose Game before Untitled Goose Game. You play as a goat, and it is your only goal to cause as much destruction as goat-ly possible. You’re a goat! Cause chaos! Create some ridiculous internet memes!

People have compared Goat Simulator to a skater game, except you’re a goat. And rather than earning more points for cooler/better tricks, you get more points for destroying things with some style and grace. It’s absolutely ridiculous and the perfect escape from our harsh, terrifying reality.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is the first three Uncharted games from Naughty Dog. As I always say anytime these pop up, if you haven’t had a chance to play them, now is the perfect opportunity and you shouldn’t blow it.

Sure, the first Uncharted game is a little buggy in the visuals aspect, but it came out in 2007 — which is suddenly 13 years ago. It should look a little laggy and glitchy. But the technological jump from 2 and 3 will make you marvel, even today.

Naughty Dog does wonders with its storytelling, and Uncharted is one of its biggest shining stars. At least downloading this collection will give you three games to pass the time until The Last of Us Part II in May.

Or, at the very least, you can watch this excellent Hey Ash Whatcha Playin’ episode…even if it is technically about Indiana Jones.

Both January offerings are available to download for PlayStation Plus members starting January 7 until February 3.

As always, the December offerings (Monster Energy Supercross and Titanfall 2) are available until January 6.
