Star Wars brought us Babu Frik in The Rise of Skywalker. Think you recognized the voice? You probably did as a Harry Potter fan!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is certainly divisive, but it brought a breakout character. Babu Frik became the one that everyone talked about after the movie. If you thought you recognized the voice, that’s because you’re a die-hard Harry Potter fan.

Sure enough, a certain ghostly figure voiced this character. Moaning Myrtle was back, according to IGN. Well, sort of. Shirley Henderson brought the character to life in the way she did with the ghost haunting the girl’s bathroom.

More from Harry Potter

Let’s be honest, it was a bit of a surprise to hear. Babu Frik spoke just a load of gibberish and it wasn’t immediately clear that a woman was voicing the role. However, it makes perfect sense that Myrtle would come back as a gibberish-talking creature that everyone would fall in love with. We did have a soft spot for the innocent victim of Tom Riddle.

The Star Wars saga is over. Well, this is supposed to be the end, at least of the Skywalker storyline. However, we all know Disney and its love of making money. There is a chance another trilogy will be created somewhere along the line. It’s perfectly possible that we’ll see Babu Frik return, and maybe we’ll even get to understand the language a little. Or not. Maybe it will always be like Chewie.

Either way, there is some hope that Harry Potter and Star Wars will crossover through actors again. If anything, Babu Frik could team up with Baby Yoda and have a spin-off series of their own!
