In all of the Harry Potter universe, there are so many characters for us all to love and that love can change depending on our mood. But our favorite character in the Harry Potter series does say a lot about us.
For me, I’ve always loved the Marauders the most. This group of friends who would do anything for each other, the Marauders are a beautiful look at friendship and love that is separate from the rest of the series. But what does that say about me? Probably that I love the idea of friendship and what we’d do to save it, no matter the cost.
If you like Snape best, you probably love the idea of unrequited love and the drama found within that. They all mean something, the characters and their arcs, and so when you separate us all out and look at who we love, you can see exactly what kind of characters you like in series. For instance, Sirius Black is my favorite and when you look other characters I like, they all have the same kind of place in the series that Sirius does.
He is the father figure, the character who Harry turns to for advice and his death hurts more than I expected (so, a lot like Tony Stark in the latter half of the MCU). But still, maybe they don’t say much about us or maybe they do, either way, we have our favorite characters and that’s still important.
