Emma Watson loves to play characters that are either from novels or love to read (and sometimes both) and it is fun to look at that trend and the importance of it to her career.

From Meg March in Little Women to Belle in Beauty and the Beast and, of course, Hermione Granger, Emma Watson tends to play a character who loves to lose herself in some way or another. In Little Women, Meg March is the sister that Jo wishes would be an actress. She can transform into new characters and she gets to explore this work in a new different way.

What’s great about Meg is also what’s great about Hermione Granger and Belle. They’re both characters who lose themselves in characters and stories and love to share that with others. Belle more so than Hermione, who just loves to learn.

But all of these characters have one thing in common: Emma Watson. The actress bringing them to life. There is a beautiful through-line with each of these characters and it stays with us Harry Potter fans because it all started because its why we fell in love with Hermione Granger in the beginning.

To be honest, I like this trend in Emma Watson’s career. I like that she is sticking with these book characters because it makes younger fans turn to the literary works that inspired the films and hopefully they read them.

It’s what Hermione Granger would want and the fact that it is Emma Watson doing it makes it all that much better for us as fans.

Next. Why do fans cling to the Marauders era of the Harry Potter series. dark
