The penultimate episode of the first season of His Dark Materials airs on HBO tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to live stream the thrilling adventures of Lyra Belacqua.
Last week’s episode of His Dark Materials saw an action-packed hour as Lyra and the Gyptians freed the children, Roger included, at Bolvanger. There were many satisfying moments, including the reunion of Lyra with her mother, Mrs. Coulter, and Ma Costa’s vengeance on behalf of her son.
Ultimately, Lyra headed to Svalbard to free her father with her best friend, Iorek, and Lee Scoresby in tow as the Gyptians returned home with the freed children.

The official synopsis from HBO reads:
"“Separated from her friends, Lyra must use all of her methods of deception to thwart a formidable foe. Elsewhere, Mrs. Coulter plots her next move.”"
Episode six concluded with a literal cliffhanger, Lyra having fallen out of Lee’s hot air balloon. Thankfully, we see in the preview above that Lyra appears to be unscathed as she heads into the lion’s den — bear’s den, rather — with Iorek to rescue her father from Iofur Raknison.
After an eventful fight in last week’s episode, the witch Serafina Pekkala is also making her appearance more known as she makes it clear that Lyra’s importance to the world is beyond Lyra’s own understanding.
Fans of the books can look forward to a key moment for Iorek as he works with Lyra to earn back his rightful throne in Svalbard. We also see more of Will Parry and his mother.
