His Dark Materials season 1 episode 6 live stream: Watch online
The sixth episode of His Dark Materials airs on HBO tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to live stream the thrilling adventures of Lyra Belacqua.
Last week’s episode of His Dark Materials saw heartbreak at every turn as Ma Costa was finally reunited with her son, Billy, only to discover he had been separated from his dæmon and irrevocably harmed.
As Lyra and the Gyptians grieved young Billy, Mrs. Coulter’s goons came for Lyra and kidnapped her for the North, taking her to the heart of the plot unfolding with the Gobblers and the stolen children.
In a parallel world, we also met Will Parry, a boy whose fate will intertwine with Lyra’s, and who Lord Boreal of the Magisterium considers to be very important. It was a huge moment that departed from the books by introducing the seminal character early.
With only three episodes left, this week promises to bring everything to a head as Lyra faces her estranged mother who must decide between Lyra and her precious research.
This week’s synopsis from HBO reads:
"“Lyra discovers the horrific truth behind the Gobbler’s activities in the North. She must now use all her wits to help free those around her and avoid suffering a terrible fate.”"
Watch the preview for “The Daemon Cages” below:
“Every boundary in experimental theology requires the sacrifice of the few for the many,” Mrs. Coulter intones as we see the bleak, cold holding cell that Lyra and her fellow children are in.
The episode also looks to be incredibly suspenseful. We see a glimpse of the guillotine heretofore only seen in the blueprints in Mrs. Coulter’s office, as well as a doctor referencing dying children. (Perhaps children like Billy Costa?)
More than anything, though, we see Lyra fighting and encouraging her fellow captive children to fight as well.
