Tonight is the series premiere of The L Word: Generation Q. Here’s everything you need to know to live-stream the lady-loving ladies of Los Angeles.

It’s been 10 years since we last saw Bette, Alice, and Shane, and it appears a lot has changed since then (though some things certainly stay the same). Tonight’s season premiere of The L Word: Generation Q picks up with our favorite Los Angeles queer women while introducing a crop of new characters.

Showtime’s official synopsis for tonight’s episode reads:

"“Ten years after we last left them, we find Bette running for mayor of Los Angeles; Shane as she returns to the city after a setback; and Alice learning to balance co-parenting with her fiancée Nat and Nat’s ex-wife Gigi and the rising success of her talk show. We meet PR exec Dani Núñez, her girlfriend and TV producer Sophie Suarez, their best friend and roommate Micah Lee, and the charming former Olympic swimmer-turned-assistant, (Sarah) Finley.”"

Like any good reboot/sequel, we see in equal measures the new characters with the old. Bette’s proclivities appear to have followed her into the mayoral race, while Shane literally hasn’t changed at all. Meanwhile, Alice’s burgeoning The View-esque career from the latter third of the original run of The L Word has blossomed into her own hit talk show.

Simultaneously, the newer, younger, characters are introduced with their own set of problems. The eponymous Generation Q is notably more diverse than the original run, not just in terms of ethnicity, but with The L Word‘s first trans actor in a leading role.
