Best of the decade: What were the top 10 female-fronted sci-fi shows of the 2010s?

Wynonna Earp (Syfy), 2016-present
A supernatural Western series based on the comic book of the same name, Wynonna Earp is one of the most underrated shows on television. It combines humor, action, drama and the supernatural in a way we haven’t seen since the days of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The show follows the adventures of the modern-day descendant of Wyatt Earp, a hot mess of a woman who gets her life together in order to face down the demons and forces of darkness that terrorize her hometown of Purgatory.
Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) is joined by her town historian sister, Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), and her sister’s police officer girlfriend, Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell). While the series can be quite dark at times, it usually tries to interject moments of humor into each episode.
Waverly ventures into her first same-sex relationship with Nicole with gleeful trepidation, winning audiences over and earning them the ship name “WayHaught.” Diehard fans of the show rallied together when news of financial trouble behind the scenes threatened to end the series following the announcement of its fourth-season renewal. It has since been reported the show is back on track to return in 2020. The series has also spawned its own convention, Earpapalooza, which sells out pretty regularly.
