When it comes to Ilvermorny, we don’t know how the school handles normal holidays that Americans celebrate so do those witches and wizards get to have Thanksgiving off of school?

The strange thing about Hogwarts and Ilvermorny is that the two schools seem similar and yet, when you stop to think about it, they are two different schools in two different countries. So, for Ilvermorny, do you think that the students got to have a fall break to go home for Thanksgiving?

Sure, the idea of the Thanksgiving holiday is what spawned this but then I started to think about the entire idea of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World and how their students basically got off for Christmas and summer and that was it.

What was more interesting to me is that these kids basically don’t get breaks from school other than the weekend? They’re constantly there, they seemingly don’t have breaks other than major ones, and then they’re back. What kind of life at school is that? Sure, again, it’s fun because it is magic but there is still a level of family and connection that these students are missing because they’re in school.

Do parents get to at least request their children come home for specific holidays? What about birthdays? Do they just never get to celebrate them with their family? It’s really interesting, and also a little sad since these kids are only eleven when they get sent away to school, but it is interesting to look at how these students would live.
