The fourth episode of His Dark Materials airs on HBO tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to live stream the thrilling adventures of Lyra Belacqua.
Last week’s episode of His Dark Materials took us further into the world of the Gyptians. After escaping the clutches of Mrs. Coulter, a frustrated and defeated Lyra was rescued by Tony Costa and taken in by the Gyptians.
It wasn’t long before Lyra learned another truth about her parentage — that Mrs. Coulter is her mother — and joined in the fight with the Gyptians to head north and rescue the children from the Gobblers.
His Dark Materials has been doing mostly a lot of world building at this point, and it is a huge world. Now that Lyra and the Gyptians are officially headed North, more things are bound to come to a head.
According to HBO, the official synopsis for “Armour” reads:
"“Lyra and the Gyptians arrive in the North, and seek the help of the Witches’ Consul. Texan aeronaut Lee Scoresby and an armored bear in service to the town.”"

His Dark Materials has been teasing Lin-Manuel Miranda’s appearance for weeks and it looks like we’ll finally get a glimpse at his Texas aeronaut, Lee Scoresby.
In addition to Lee Scoresby, it looks like we’ll finally be meeting another fan-favorite character, Iorek Byrnison, a giant talking polar bear who, when Lyra meets him, is a bit down on his luck as he’s lost his armor (hence the title of the episode).
The preview also shows that the Magisterium isn’t stopping anytime soon, as Mrs. Coulter takes her work (and her creepy dæmon) to the North.
