Watchmen’s Lady Trieu has been building her clock for quite some time, and she has an interesting way of making herself known in Tulsa.

This week’s episode of Watchmen did what we’ve come to expect from the show thus far: gave us more questions and not that many answers. This time, the series did so in the form of Lady Trieu. The mysterious woman behind the statue in town, Lady Trieu made it a big deal but kept herself hidden. Or at least that’s what it seemed.

Instead, she made herself known when she needed something and knew how to get what she wanted — like when she wanted the land a family had, so she created a child for them without their permission and, essentially, forced them into selling their land to her.

Throughout the entire episode, we learned of this world that Lady Trieu inhabits and got glimpses of Angela learning about her family and how they fit into the fabric of Tulsa. Meanwhile, Laurie was there and connected with Angela through the twisted nature of her own parents.

But what was so interesting about this episode was that there was just more information thrown at us, and it made for even more questions about what is going on. Angela is still trying to understand Judd and his connection to the KKK and what to do with the Seventh Kalvary. At the same time, she’s still dealing with the layers of everything else around her.

With nine episodes in the whole season, we’re about halfway through, and, right now, there is so much to unpack still. We don’t know what’s going to happen with Lady Trieu, Ozymandias, and Dr. Manhattan in space. Whatever it is, it’s going to be a journey that has layers upon layers.
