10 YA book releases to stay warm and cozy with this November
Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan
Natasha Ngan’s Girls of Paper and Fire was one of last year’s most enticing releases, and Girls of Storm and Shadow promises to be one of this year’s most exciting new novels. The sequel has already received plenty of praise since its release on November 5, and that’s certainly a reason to keep it in mind when deciding on your November TBR.
Girls of Storm and Shadow picks up where book one left off, with Lei and Wren freed from their lives at the palace. Unfortunately, they quickly realize that freedom isn’t all they imagined it would be — and that it might even come at a cost. The two still have plenty of dangers to face, especially on their journey to rally the rebel clans and overthrow the monarchy.
To start, Lei is wanted — and she has a pretty hefty bounty on her head. To make matters wose, there’s also a plot to overthrow the very rebels the two are headed for. And with dark magic involved, it’s not a sure thing that Lei and Wren will be able to defeat the oppressive monarchy they’ve grown to hate — even if they do manage to bring the rebels to their side.
With all the romance, political intrigue, and dark magic, fans of YA fantasy will definitely want to pick up Girls of Storm and Shadow — or Ngan’s entire series if they haven’t started it yet. After all, it has all the things you could really want in a fantasy story.
