The dramatic conclusion of Marissa Meyer’s Renegades saga is here, and it’s a lot. Both in terms of sheer volume – the final book clocks in at nearly 500 pages – and the number of twists it includes.

Supernova pretty much picks up right where Archenemies left off, as villain Nova scrambles to cover up the fact that she’s been hiding in plain sight among the hero Renegades all along. (And keep the boy she likes – Renegade team leader Sketch – that she’s basically been lying to him since they met.) Unfortunately, however, Nova must balance more competing loyalties and complicated secrets than ever before – and since this is the last novel in a series, one has to assume the truth is going to come out eventually.

What will happen when it does?

The Supernova synopsis is almost shockingly vague, as final books go.

"The epic conclusion to Marissa Meyer’s thrilling Renegades Trilogy finds Nova and Adrian struggling to keep their secret identities concealed while the battle rages on between their alter egos, their allies, and their greatest fears come to life. Secrets, lies, and betrayals are revealed as anarchy once again threatens to reclaim Gatlon City."

Can Gatlon City find a way for heroes and villains to coexist? Can anyone forgive Nova for what she’s done? And who are the real good and evil figures here? Those who want to live in peace? Those who want to force their views on others? Those who want to prey on the fears and weaknesses of those around them? As the Renegades weigh distributing a dangerous new weapons that can remove prodigies powers forever – all these questions come into play – right up until the final moment.

Supernova is available November 5.
