Fantastic Beasts 3 has finally been granted a production start date. That comes with news about character details and more.
We finally have the news that we’ve been waiting for. Fantastic Beasts 3 has a rough date for production to start. Along with that, we’ve got information about a new character and much more.
Deadline shared the exclusive update that Fantastic Beasts 3 would start production in spring 2020. David Yates returns as the director, with the regular cast heading back to the screen. None of this is all that surprising.

Production for the third installment in the Harry Potter prequels was supposed to start in July 2019. However, production had to be pushed back for more preparation time. All we knew by that point was that it would likely be sometime in 2020, but not even an idea of a month.
Jessica Williams is joining Fantastic Beasts 3 after a small appearance in The Crimes of Grindelwald. She’ll play Professor Eualie “Lally” Hicks. She’s a teacher at the American version of Hogwarts, Ilvermorny. It will be interesting to see the part she plays in the movie that is going to be mostly set in Brazil.

The third movie was rumored to be set in Brazil after J.K. Rowling teased it during the writing process of the movie. Now it seems confirmed, and we can’t help but wonder where the fourth and fifth films will be set. It’s also not entirely clear what will take Newt and co. to Brazil, but it looks like it’s going to pull all the witches in as they look for a way to deal with Grindelwald.
