Meredith Grey is heading to jail in this week’s Halloween-themed episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Here’s how you can watch the next episode “Whistlin’ Past The Graveyard” online.

Well, plenty of Grey’s Anatomy fans wanted the show to stop repeating overused storylines and try something new. That’s certainly the ongoing theme of season 16, which has multiple main characters working at a new hospital and one doing jail time.

That’s right — we’ve reached the episode where Meredith Grey finally heads to jail. Because that’s what happens when you miss your court-mandated community service.

They did technically let her off the hook ever so slightly for missing her court appearance because of Zola’s emergency surgery, but consequences are still consequences.

It’s Halloween at Grey Sloan Memorial (and Pacific Northwest) this week. Which, judging by the preview, will feature plenty of candy, Jo in a wedding dress, and a real (and probably spooky) graveyard.

Alex’s “Nothing is scarier than my real life” line definitely reminds us why we continue to love him so much — oh, how he’s grown. Also, who’s going to have a medical emergency that requires Dr. Grey’s immediate assistance while she’s stuck behind bars (because come on, you know that’s where we’re headed)? We’ll just have to tune in to find out.

Technically, nothing will likely ever beat last year’s Halloween episode — you know, the one with the Spanish acoustic version of “Chasing Cars” that brought back literally everyone Meredith has ever cared about and lost. Even her dog,

It was only for a minute. But nothing — NOTHING — will ever top that.

Come on, Grey’s. Prove me wrong.
