The saddest thing to happen to Harry Potter happened to him twice on Halloween
There is a moment in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child that brings a brilliant moment for Harry but also reminds us of his tragedy and his old loneliness from the hand of Voldemort.
Voldemort took everything from Harry Potter on Halloween night not once, but twice. When you watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, you realize quickly that Harry had to watch his mother get killed in front of him as a baby and then, when he was in his thirties, he had to watch both his parents die at the hands of Voldemort and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Cursed Child does a beautiful job of taking our heart out and stomping on it repeatedly because of how badly Harry has had it. Not only did he have to endure a life without his family but then his son made him go back in time and come face to face with their death. At least this time, he had his son, wife, and friends to stand by him so he wouldn’t have to be there alone.
To be fair, Harry could have left and let someone else make sure it happened. But instead, he wanted to be the one there to make sure Voldemort carried out his vicious act on his family and maybe that was something Harry Potter shouldn’t have done but at least he had Ron, Ginny, Hermione, and even Draco by his side.
