The preview we got for Watchmen brought to life one important aspect of the show: This alternate history isn’t great for the world any more than our own is.

Last week, we saw the world that Watchmen was setting up but where is the series going to go? Well, in episode 2, at least, we know that we’re going to find out why Judd Crawford (Don Johnson) was killed by the man in the wheelchair.

The last we saw, Judd was hanging from a tree and Angela was looking on as her friend and the Chief of Police was dead before her. And, if the upcoming trailer is anything to go by, Judd’s death seemingly weighs heavy upon her.

So, a few things: Does this trailer mean that we will see Laurie in the next episode and will Angela have to seek justice for Judd’s murder while still dealing with the Seventh Kalvary at the same time? So far, Watchmen seems to be setting up a lot of things, but we don’t really know where they’re going to go.

Since “It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice” was a pilot episode, we were thrust into a story where we only kind of understood the motives of the characters. We’re still learning about them and now that we saw Angela go from living a life of happiness with her family and having Judd on her side, it can only get worse from here in terms of what is to come for her.

All that being said, we still have characters from the original graphic novel coming and their introduction can only mean trouble for Angela and her mission. Is Judd really dead? Is this something that we’re going to have to figure out throughout the rest of the season? Who knows but episode 2 is going to be an interesting look into how the rest of season 1 is going to pan out.
