Can you handle being slimed? Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park is set to open at American Dream, and all ages are ready for the great adventure.

Kids of all ages are excited to head to Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park at American Dream. Billed as the Western Hemisphere’s largest indoor theme park, everyone is curious to see what this newest attraction will offer. Will the roller coaster or the chance to get slimed get you to purchase a ticket?

This new Nickelodeon theme park is set to open at American Dream in New Jersey. The theme park is just one area of the gigantic community. It will combine the indoor theme park, a water park, fashion, dining and more. To call it a mega mall is a understatement.

In some ways, the New Jersey Nickelodeon theme park is an expansion of a similar offering at the Mall of America. While the Minnesota version is smaller, the Nickelodeon theme is similar.

As for the new Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, this indoor offering has a wide appeal. While the attractions are based on popular Nickelodeon characters, there is a sense that this theme will attract more than just the younger crowd.

Just like Disney and Universal have become part of the pop culture collective, the Nickelodeon characters have as well. Who doesn’t know how to sing the SpongeBob theme song or hasn’t learned a Spanish word from Dora the Explorer? In some ways, these characters are as popular as Olaf, The Grinch, or even The Simpsons.

For many people, one big attraction will be the slime factor. Whether it is the old school Double Dare or the Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, people love the idea of getting or watching someone get slimed. Even though no one really wants to know what slime is, they do enjoy seeing that bright green goo smothering someone.

While some of the Nickelodeon characters and experiences might bring families, the actual theme park attractions should bring the adrenaline junkies looking for the newest thrill. With over 35 rides, the thrill seekers will have plenty to do.

According to media releases, rides include The Shredder, The Shellraiser, and Nickelodeon’s Skyline Scream. Even though these attractions are housed indoors, The Shellraiser is said to have the World’s Steepest Drop. It goes to show that indoor theme parks don’t have to be reliant on dark rides and simulators.

Similar to traditional theme parks, the thrill rides aren’t the only entertainment options. There will be live entertainment to add to the guests’ fun throughout the day.

Overall, the idea of American Dream and its numerous attractions and experiences seems to bring a new concept to the old school mall. Combining big attractions and entertainment with shopping and dining could revitalize the mall concept. Although many people prefer to shop by pushing a button, these types of combination experiences could change the overall entertainment landscape.

Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, located in New Jersey’s American Dream, is set to open on October 25. Additional attractions will open later in 2019 and 2020.
