If you’ve been lucky enough to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, you probably know the answer to it, but for those who haven’t, here is why it is hard to make a touring production of the hit show.

After seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, one thing became very clear: This show would be impossible to take on a national tour. Why? Because it is larger than life and the magic behind it would truly be difficult to transport city to city in an effective way.

That being said, does that mean that everyone is going to have to go to a big city in order to experience the magic that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child brings to us all? No, I don’t think so. From what I can tell, they’re starting to bring productions all over the world and, who knows, maybe they’re planning residencies in big theaters so that everyone can experience the magic without having to travel extremely far to do so.

Like any typical national tour, I think you’d have to go to whatever town you go to to see a musical or play where you live but I think that the production would stay longer than a tour typically would make sure everyone is getting the magic as we are on Broadway or the West End, and then making sure the next city gets the same treatment.

Hopefully, they do this soon so everyone can be ready for the next journey of Harry and his friends but who knows what is actually going to happen!
