Harry Potter and the exploration of finding your own version of home

Hogwarts is always there to welcome us home and that is an important aspect of the Harry Potter series to remember. So, let’s explore the idea of the found home within the series.

Trying to find a metaphorical home has always been easy in the Harry Potter series and maybe that is because Hogwarts represented that home. We were always welcome within the walls of the Potter fandom and, with that understanding, many of us were aware of what it meant to find our own home outside of the literal one we were living in.

To put it plainly: The Harry Potter series helped teach us all the importance of making your own family and understanding the idea of what a home should be and searching for it ourselves. That being said, there is a beautiful message within the quote of “Hogwarts is always there to welcome you home” because we had to be taught about the idea of making our own way.

For Harry Potter, he always had to look for a family outside of the one that raised him. He didn’t have anyone until he went to school and found Ron and Hermione. That lesson, that we can find our people outside of our blood, is extremely important because so many are lost in their dedication to their family and they don’t take care of themselves.

Harry Potter learned that he could find a home away from the Dursleys and that lesson is one we should all hold dear to us because it helped teach us all to find our family.
