The importance of the friendship between James Potter and Sirius Black

James Potter and Sirius Black were important to one another but looking at their friendship, it is amazing to see why these two friends cared so much about one another.

When it comes to friendship, James Potter and Sirius Black know why it is important to make your own family. That being said, why do we love their friendship so much when we saw so little of it? For them, they only really had each other and that’s why the sting of Peter Pettigrew’s betrayal hit so hard among fans.

With the Marauders, many fans love the dynamic between the friends (with the exception of Peter Pettigrew). While we haven’t seen much of them in the series, it is their grown-up ways that make us interested in what these four friends were like in school. But, for James and Sirius, their friendship was more than just school kids who loved to mess around.

James Potter was basically Sirius Black’s brother, inviting him to his home and taking him in when Sirius had no one. That dynamic, that friendship, is something that many of us wish we could have seen more of. Clearly, James’s death hit Sirius in a way that we never got to really explore in the series and that isn’t fair because we never really to see James or Sirius exist outside of what Harry was seeing.

So, their friendship still rang so strongly in that many of us (myself included) want to see what James Potter and Sirius Black’s friendship was like as these two were in school.
