Showtime has dropped the trailer for The L Word: Generation Q, which features queer characters both old and new.

After ten years of rumors, fans were ecstatic to hear that the iconic lesbian-themed series The L Word would not only be coming back, but would actually be a continuation of the original show. Groundbreaking for its time, The L Word featured some of the best LGBTQ+ representation, specifically for it’s portrayal of gay women, on television and has been revered for years after the series ended.

Now, Showtime graced us with a short trailer that gives us a glimpse of our old favorites (Alice!), along with plenty of other new faces (Angelica all grown up). Veteran cast members Jennifer Beals, Kate Moenning, and Leisha Hailey return to reprise their roles of Bette Porter, Shane McCutcheon, and Alice Pieszecki respectively. New cast members include Sense8‘s Jamie Clayton, Leo Shang, Arienne Mandi, Jacqueline Toboni, and Rosanny Zayas. The series premieres December 8 on Showtime.

Fans of the original show may recall — for better or worse — that the sixth and final season aired 10 years ago and revolved around the “murder” of resident hot mess Jenny Schecter (played to manic perfection by Mia Kirshner), with the rest of the girls finding themselves suspects of Jenny’s death.

At the end of the season, Bette and her family moved to New York to start over. However, the trailer shows Bette back in LA and running for mayor. Alice seems to be expanding her media empire into the television world, and Shane is, well, doing what Shane does best. There have been several reports of Sarah Shahi’s Carmen and Rachel Shelley’s Helena also appearing at some point during the season (although nothing has been officially confirmed), but the question on everyone’s mind is probably, “Where’s Tina?” Looks like we’ll have to wait until December to find out.
