7 show to check out if you love (and miss) DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Rick and Morty
Having exploded in popularity in the past few years, the next entry on a list has an incredibly unique visual style that’s made it instantly recognizable and garnered it a massive fan base. Rick and Morty is an animated series about Morty Smith and the bizarre, alcohol-fuelled, sex-filled, overly-violent adventures he embarks with thanks to his mad scientist grandfather, Rick Sanchez.
Created by Community showrunner Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty is everything insane about Legends of Tomorrow dialed up to eleven, animated, and then filled to the brim with profanity. Just like Legends, Rick and Morty frequently dabbles in time travel and intergalactic adventures – the titular duo find themselves involved with all sorts of unsavory alien species on a weekly basis.
The show has been the topic of significant controversy over the years, especially in regards to its influence on its youthful fanbase, but the series still stands as one of our favorite adult-oriented animated shows, alongside South Park and Bojack Horseman.
At times it does tend to get much, much darker than Legends, but it’s so entertaining that we would still recommend it for fans looking to get their fill of time traveling comedy hijinks.
If you want to find out what the hype is all about, you can find Rick and Morty on Hulu, iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, and for purchase on Youtube.
