7 show to check out if you love (and miss) DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
The X-Files
This sci-fi staple is one of the most referenced and meme’d shows in pop culture history, not to mention one of the greatest. Starring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, this 90s hit is a must for all sci-fi fans, but Legends viewers especially.
One is a skeptic and the other is a conspiracy theorist, but together they’re FBI agents who investigate the paranormal and the unexplainable, a.k.a the X-files. Maybe you’ve never gotten around to watching this show, or maybe you’re rewatching it for the 12th time, but if you’re a fan of Legends, we can promise that you’ll have a good time with The X-Files.
Tonally it differs pretty drastically from Legends. At least in its earlier seasons, The X-Files is more like your standard police procedural, just with great writing and some sci-fi flare. However, the longer the show progressed the more comfortable it grew in its own skin, and it suddenly got significantly weirder (and funnier).
With writers including Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Frank Spotnitz (The Man in High Castle) and Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24), The X-Files is a groundbreaking series that practically required viewing for sci-fi fans.
If you’re looking to get sucked into the conspiracy, you can find The X-Files on Hulu, Philo, iTunes, and Amazon Prime Video.
