The Tick

Many of the entries on our list are a little darker than Legends of Tomorrow tends to be, but what if you’re looking for a show with the same level of signature campiness? Look no further than the Amazon original The Tick.

The show centers around a meek accountant named Arthur living in a world where superheroes and villains have been a normal part of life for as long as he can remember. After uncovering a conspiracy, Arthur teams up with an uber-blue and uber-weird superhero, known as “The Tick”, to put an end to a sinister plan to destroy the city.

The Tick has the same underdog spirit as Legends, not to mention the same visual style – full of straight-off-the-page comic book costumes, and ridiculous fight choreography. The Tick also has its share of goofy one-liners and eye-roll-inducing humor – another Legends staple.

Like Legends, it finds its source material in a well-loved comic series, and both shows lean into their silliness while also providing satire on the superhero genre as a whole. Starring Peter Serafinowicz and Griffin Newman, The Tick is a lesser-known series that we think deserves a lot more love.

If The Tick sounds like a show you want to try, you can stream it exclusively on Amazon Prime Video
