Harry Potter stars in other roles: Julie Walters in Billy Elliot
Many of the cast of Harry Potter have very long and fun careers so it is nice to look at some of their other works to honor it, like Julie Walters in her role in Billy Elliot.
Julie Walters helped to bring Molly Weasley to life in the Harry Potter series but she has quite the career outside of the world J.K. Rowling created. Among those films comes Billy Elliot. A movie about Billy (Jamie Bell) who just wants to dance, Walters brings to life Mrs. Wilkinson.
The story of Billy Elliot is one that is still relevant today because many want to live out their dreams of doing what they want, which is what Billy wants to do. He wants to dance and his father wants him to do a ‘lads’ activity. But Mrs. Wilkinson continues to teach him and help Billy despite what his father thinks.
The best part about it is Julie Walters and her ability to bring to life yet another character who is looking out for a boy who needs her help. Billy Elliot needs someone who will encourage him to follow his dreams and that’s what she does, teaching him to dance and letting Billy be the boy he wants to be. It is a wonderful story and one of Julie Walters’ most iconic parts.
Walters has quite the brilliant career and there is just so much to see out of her work and, if you haven’t watched many of her films, you should definitely take a look at Billy Elliot! Plus, it’s on Netflix!
