Guinan (The Next Generation)

Oh, how we miss Guinan. Like Q, Guinan is a no-brainer for us in terms of returning TNG characters. The bartender in ten-forward on the Enterprise, Guinan is an immortal(?) and ever-so-mysterious woman who acted as a confidant, shoulder to cry on, and friend to most crewmembers (including Picard) after a long day.

Though her job may seem mundane in comparison to the action-packed lives of Picard and his crew, Guinan has a long and interesting history, including a past with Picard. Picard seems like a show all about uncovering Picard’s past and what has made him so jaded in the present, so brining back Guinan to help fill in the gaps would certainly be an exciting turn.

Not to mention, Guinan’s frequent presence on TNG would mean she would get to reunite with other former enterprise crewmates who’ve already been confirmed to appear on the show, like Commander Riker and Counselor Troi. It might be difficult to find a way to tie her in, given that most of Guinan’s life remains shrouded in mystery, but nonetheless, we’d love to see Whoopi Goldberg don one of those massive hats again and return to the role.
