Q (TNG, VOY, DS9)

An undeniable fan favorite, Q is a troublesome cosmic entity whose favorite pastime seems to be messing with Jean-Luc Picard. Throughout the run of The Next Generation, Q made multiple appearances, during which he always gleefully caused trouble for Captain Picard and his crew.

However, Q’s fascination with Picard doesn’t just seem to be for comedy’s sake. Q was also present for some of the most dramatic and influential episodes in Picard’s story, namely Tapestry. As such, we think he’d be the perfect candidate for an appearance in Picard. His habit of popping in and out of time to fluster Picard would make it easy for the writers to explain his presence, and bringing back John De Lancie would certainly be a crowd-pleasing move.

Aside from making viewers happy, bringing back Q would also bring some levity to what seems to be an otherwise serious sci-fi drama — not to mention, Q’s presence always seems to (somehow) bring out the best in Picard. Out of all of the characters we’ll be mentioning, Q is at the top of our list.
