The trailer for Last Christmas, starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding, was just released and we’re already marking our calendars.

It may only be August but Hollywood is gearing up for the holiday season early by releasing the trailer for upcoming romantic comedy Last Christmas , and Christmas fanatics (myself included) are here for it.

Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians’ Henry Golding as two strangers who randomly meet on the streets of London during Christmas time. But is anything actually really random anymore? Or was it fate that brought the two together?

Unlike most Christmas movies we see playing on television these days (lookin’ at you Hallmark Channel), this one seems to have a bit more story behind it. Director Paul Feig classifies it as a ‘dramatic romantic comedy.’

The official synopsis reads:

"Kate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having accepted to work as Santa’s elf for a department store. However, she meets Tom there. Her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true."

Scriptwriter Emma Thompson (yes, that Emma Thompson) collaborated with pop icon George Michael on this story before the signer passed away in 2016, and the movie will be peppered with his music, including an unreleased track that will play at the end. As if this movie hadn’t perked my interest already.

The movie began filming three weeks before Christmas in 2018 so it’s sure to delight the eyes with lights and sights from across the pond. It’s an English twist on Elf, and it’s telling the story that the holiday spirit can be found, even in the darkest of minds, (if one only remembers to turn on the light).

Aquaman 2 might be delayed, but it’s for a good reason. dark. Next

The movie is set to premiere in theaters on November 8, and by the looks of it, we should all be sure to bring a box of tissues, and maybe a shoulder to cry on.
