Trying to understand the actions of Peter Pettigrew and his betrayal

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s hard to understand why Peter Pettigrew would betray his friends as he did but is there any way to understand why he would do that to James, Lily, and Sirius?

Peter Pettigrew is not a good man and whenever I think about the Marauders, I get a bit angry at the fact that we have to include him because, he’s a traitor, but then again he’s still one of their group of friends. Which begs the question as to why?

Why would Peter Pettigrew take his friends and throw them under the bus? What did Voldemort promise him that was so much better than everything happening in his life? He had his friends, who supported him as they were growing up, and he didn’t want to be there with them anymore? It seems excessive and like he just wanted to be better than James, Sirius, and Remus.

Peter Pettigrew ruined the lives of James and Lily Potter, framed Sirius Black for multiple deaths, and made Lupin live a life without any of his friends and for what? So that he could be a servant to Voldemort? It’s idiotic and makes Peter Pettigrew the worst kind of traitor.

I will never forgive Peter Pettigrew for what’s he done and if they ever do make a Marauders series, I can’t wait to hate him with all my heart because no ‘friend’ turns on his best friends just because of Voldemort.

Next. What if Harry Potter had a sibling to help him as he was growing up?. dark

Is there any way to really understand what Peter Pettigrew did? Why he left his friends out to dry to follow whatever Voldemort was promising him? Or do we all think it is just because he’s a monster? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
