Bryan Cranston as Colonel Mustard

In the original film, Colonel Mustard is a bumbling military man who generally seems to be a few crayons short of a box. And although there were a handful of actors who we think could knock this role out of the park, in the end, we went with Bryan Cranston.

We know what you’re thinking: Walter White!? In a comedy?!  But hear us out. Cranston has proven time and again that he’s seriously funny. Though most people know him best from playing a criminal mastermind on Breaking Bad, we still think that he could pull off the painfully incompetent Colonel Mustard in our remake. (And, to be fair, Walter White had his comical moments.)

Lest we forget, Cranston also has his roots in comedy, having starred as Malcolm’s goofy dad, Hal, in Malcolm in the Middle. With more recent comedic roles in films like Why Him and The Upside, Cranston’s proven that his comedy days are far from behind him, and we think he’d fit right in with the rest of our made-up cast.
