Harry Potter and celebrating his birthday: How does he do it as an adult?
He might not have had the best birthdays when he was growing up but now, as an adult, Harry Potter has the ability to celebrate in ways he never could as a kid.
Harry Potter watched as his cousin got a tail and his family forgot about his birthday before Hagrid showed up with a cake for him. He dealt with so much throughout his life at Hogwarts that maybe Harry’s birthday isn’t the best thing for him to celebrate. But does he?
As we know because of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Harry has a family and friends that would most definitely want to celebrate him on his birthday. The question is whether or not he actually likes to celebrate it. For so long, Harry’s birthday wasn’t anything special in his life. He watched as his cousin was celebrated and everyone seemed to forget that Harry’s day even existed.
Then, when he was in school, they had things happening on his birthday and he still didn’t get his moment. So now, that he has a job and a family and is somewhat living a normal life, would he let his family and friends make a big deal about him? Truly, it might be a weird thing for Harry in general because he never understood what it was like to have a birthday. Still, maybe he lets Ginny and Hermione throw him parties with the kids and he gets to actually have his day.
