Insight Editions took to the stage at SDCC during the Collecting Harry Potter panel. There were many exciting moments, and here are the standout parts from Insight.

There were some exciting Harry Potter and Wizarding World moments throughout SDCC 2019. The Collecting Harry Potter panel brought a number of high-profile fans and publishers to the stage, and Vanessa Lopez took to the stage for Insight Editions.

Lopez is the Executive Editor at Insight Editions, and she had the chance to share about some of the exciting new additions through Audible and in physical book form. As a fan of Harry Potter, the news about some of the upcoming items excited me the most.

More from Harry Potter

It’s time to look at the panel and break it down with the exciting moments from the Collecting Harry Potter panel involving Insight Editions.

Harry Potter mini books to collect

We all know that there are plenty of normal-sized and large Harry Potter books. Whether it’s the illustrator editions or the pop-up books, you likely have many of them in your collection. What about when you want something that fits in your bag for your commute?

Lopez shared the collection of mini books that will be available. Straight after that, she revealed the tiny books. You can jump to 9:10 to see the small books that will be available. It is possible to read the tiny books, but they’re designed more for collections—ornament, jewelry, you choose!

Microbooks coming soon

In case your life wasn’t difficult enough, Lopez shared the latest exciting project. It’s all about the micro books, which will be even smaller than the tiny books. They’ll be available sometime in fall 2020.

Unlike the other books, she didn’t have any to share. Nor did she say too much about them. This is something we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for as part of our Harry Potter collection.

Pop-up cards added

You love the pop-up books, but what about pop-up cards? They were revealed at SDCC. We didn’t get a full look at the cards—although fans at SDCC could head over to the Insight Editions booth to see them!—but one of the cards is the Knight Bus.

Despite only being included the ones, the Knight Bus is one of the fan-favorite parts of the movie/books. It’s not surprising that it’s been included in more Harry Potter collector items.

Harry Potter holiday calendar

A lot of the items aren’t going to be available for a while, but what about something available this fall? Insight Editions revealed the Harry Potter Holiday Calendar, which is a pop-up book that everyone is going to need in the run-up to Christmas.

The book is a Christmas tree with flaps. You open the flaps and pull out an ornament. There’s one for each day in the run-up to Christmas, so you can decorate the tree in the Great Hall.

Want to read about Harry Potter<.em> at Christmas? The pop-up book has a secret book that you can read whenever you want. It’s all about the Yule Board and special moments over the holiday season.

A book of Harry Potter spells

The final reveal was a book of spells and charms. It’s a small scrapbook with all the various charms that you’d learn at Hogwarts, along with a few extra details for the fans, including Patronus cards to collect.

This is a series. There are books on the individual characters within the Wizarding World, a Dark Arts books, one about Diagon Alley. This is something that you’ll want to slowly add to your collection.
