The final day of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con has arrived. But before we say farewell to the convention, let’s look back on some of the major happenings from day three.

It’s hard to believe that today is the last day of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The weekend has been full of interesting panels and exciting reveals, with trailers for the biggest upcoming films and television series underway making us even more excited for the latter half of this year — and for the next two years in general.

Even with the end of the convention approaching, the third day of SDCC showed no signs of slowing down when it came to providing pop culture fans with everything they need to know. And with all of the television series and blockbuster movies headed our way, there is plenty that we need to know. Thankfully, SDCC delivered.

Here are five big things that happened on day three of this year’s SDCC.

The third season of Westworld got its first trailer.

The third season of HBO’s Westworld has been a long time coming, and fans still have until 2020 before they can return to this strange fictional setting and see what’s become of their favorite androids. But HBO made the wait a little more bearable by releasing a first look at the third season yesterday, offering fans a trailer that shows Dolores traveling beyond the confines of the park.

On top of Dolores’ exciting new discoveries, we also get a glimpse of what appears to be a new, WWII-themed park. Maeve is wandering around a city with Nazi symbolism hanging in the streets, which can only mean she’s been transferred somewhere with a new theme (especially since Dolores seems to be out in the modern, present-day world). We have to wonder, though: Who wants to go to a theme park based on a major historical war like WWII?

Marvel revealed release dates for its Phase 4 films (and a Disney+ series).

Ever since Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home brought the third phase of the MCU to a stunning end, fans have been asking what comes next. Until yesterday, the fourth phase has been shrouded in mystery. But at the Hall H panel that took place yesterday at SDCC, Kevin Feige revealed the franchise’s plans for Phase 4 — and things look promising, even despite all the iconic actors who left the MCU this year.

Included in the plans were release dates for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ,Loki, and Wandavision, three Disney+ series that fans knew were coming, even if we didn’t know when. Other exciting reveals included The Eternals, which will star Angelina Jolie and Thor: Love and Thunder, which will feature Natalie Portman as Lady Thor. Fans also got a tentative release date for the next Doctor Strange installment, as well as unexpected announcements for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Blade

We got our first look at The Expanse‘s fourth season.

The Expanse is one of the bigger science-fiction television series out there, based off of the book series by James S.A. Corey. Fans were heartbroken when Syfy was almost canceled it last year, but thrilled when Amazon picked it up for its fourth season. But with a new home for the series came hesitation — would changing the network impact the content in any way?

Judging by the first trailer for season four, which dropped at SDCC yesterday, the answer is no. The show looks epic as ever, and we even have a release date (finally): December 13. We’ll be watching with high hopes.

HBO’s Watchmen trailer teased a popular character’s return.

Add Damen Lindolof’s Watchmen to the seemingly endless list of HBO series we can’t wait to binge — and to the list of Comic-Con trailers that took our breath away this weekend. The latest full-length trailer unravels the major storyline for the upcoming series, but it also teases the return of a major fan-favorite character: Doctor Manhattan.

But even without the possible Doctor Manhattan reveal, HBO’s Watchmen looks like it’ll be epic. With a vigilante storyline surrounding corrupt law enforcement, plus Regina King’s acting talent, what else could you expect? We’ll be in front of the television come October.

Star Trek unveiled first looks at its series.

Star Trek fans were excited about the franchise’s presence at SDCC this year, especially with Star Trek: Discovery approaching its third season and even more television series on the way. And not only did fans get a look at the new episodes of Star Trek: Discovery  through the season’s first photos, but they also got a trailer for Star Trek: Picard.

With Patrick Stewart returing as Picard, there’s already a ton of hype surrounding this new series. But the first look at the show also hinted at the return of some other well-known names from the franchise — meaning fans are more pumped than ever to see how this plays out.
