Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter’s friendship: The evolution from enemy to friends

In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we saw how Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter grew as friends with age. So how did that journey get reflected throughout the Potter series?

Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy haven’t been the best of friends throughout the years. Mainly because the two struggled with their own demons and what needed to be done for the wizarding world. Draco was faced against his parents, worried about what they wanted him to do compared to what he actually wanted and Harry believed that Draco was evil from the start.

So really, they weren’t friends and it seemed as if they never would be. But then, in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the two started to work together and grow as friends and characters. They became the kind of characters who put their differences aside for their kids.

So, what does that mean now though for Harry and Draco? As two characters who were never really friends before, did Cursed Child fix their relationship in enough of a way that they can actually have a relationship with each other and talk to one another? Or are they going to continue to bicker, despite their sons getting along and wanting to be together?

Albus and Scorpius truly don’t care about their fathers’ beef with each other and it shows through their desire to be together and be friends even when Harry wants it to stop. So, maybe that gives us all hope for Harry and Draco and their friendship.
