The actors of the Harry Potter series and separating themselves from the characters they’ve played
Being in the Harry Potter series is great for any actor but it might be a good thing to separate themselves from the character they portrayed in the series as well.
There are so many actors in the Harry Potter series that we all know and love. But can we separate them from their characters whenever they’re in something else? To be honest, it is kind of hard. How many of us watched David Thewlis take on the villain of Aries in Wonder Woman and thought to ourselves “Lupin would never do that”?
That isn’t to say we don’t see these actors for their talents. We do. They just also happen to be iconic characters that were a part of our upbringing. For so many of us, we have loved these characters since we were old enough to read the Potter books on our own. So now that the series is over and these actors have moved on, it is still hard for us to look at them and not see them as Harry Potter or Hermione Granger.
Emma Watson is still one of the biggest actresses in the world and still, she is often linked back to Hermione and how she brought the character to life. Gary Oldman won an Academy Award for his work as Winston Churchill and still, so many of us praise him as Sirius Black. So, will they ever be free from us thinking about the Potter series when we see them? Probably not but at least we know that they are always going to be a part of our love of the series.
