American Wizards and the Fourth of July: How do they receive the holiday?

facebooktwitterreddit

The holidays can be rough but do you think that the American wizards take to celebrating the Fourth of July or do they stick to the holidays in the wizarding world.

In the world of Harry Potter, wizards celebrate a great deal of holidays. Some part of the muggle world, some part of the wizarding world. So, when looking at the American wizards from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we have to wonder if they celebrate the Fourth of July.

Sure, the American wizards we know weren’t that accepted by the muggle world and they had to hide in plain sight but that doesn’t mean that they’re not American. If anything, it is clear that they have pride in their schools so would the Fourth of July relate back to the wizards using magic to make the fireworks beautiful?

Imagine, if you will, a witch or wizard taking over the fireworks celebration in your neighborhood. Pretty incredible, right? They’d give the best display of patriotism and we’d be none the wiser of what was happening, just mesmerized by the display in front of us.

Then again, maybe they don’t like celebrating the country that tried to shun them for so long. That killed witches and tried to be the villain in their story. Maybe that’s a holiday that the American witches and wizards would rather not bring their families to because it reminds them of the past. Whatever it is, it is fun to think about wizards hanging out on the Fourth of July.
