When it comes to the ’80s, there’s a ton of great films that shaped our pop culture lexicon. Here’s a list of must-see ’80s movies for all cinephiles.

No matter what your taste in movies, fashion, TV shows, books or music, the 1980s is a pop culture bonanza for everyone.

It’s the decade of Madonna, Prince, glam metal bands, shoulder pads, scrunchies, fanny packs, Family Ties, The Facts of Life and lots of big hair.

The ’80s were so great, Hollywood execs keep pillaging the decade for material. We’ve seen reboots and revivals of shows like Dynasty, Roseanne, Full House, MacGyver and Magnum, P.I. (none of which hold up against the originals).

Hollywood even draws inspiration from network TV, bringing old faves Miami Vice, The A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard and Charlie’s Angels to the big screen, hoping to capitalize on ’80s nostalgia and attract subsequent generations.

Perhaps, nothing serves as a better time capsule for the decade of excess than its movies. From the birth of the Brat Pack to the beginning of franchises that live on to this day, the ’80s produced some of the most iconic films of all time.

Since a decade can be a lot of ground to cover, we’ve compiled a list of 20 ’80s movies everyone should see before they die.
