The complicated nature of separating Harry Potter from some opinions of those involved

The Harry Potter series has a wonderful history among fans but sometimes, people change and do things you don’t agree with and you have to separate your feelings for a series from those behind the scenes.

It is a heated debate about not supporting someone who is questionable but what do you do with something like Harry Potter if you don’t agree with an actor or even J.K. Rowling herself? It is a complicated time and often our favorites show their true colors, only to our dismay.

With J.K. Rowling, it just seems like blow after blow and, while not the best approach, I’ve learned to just not bother looking at what she’s said next. In the latest, she made some comments that many called her out for and it made me think: What do we do with Harry Potter if someone is extremely problematic?

The world of Potter has helped many of us cope with growing up, friendships, and family. It was an escape from the problems of the world but now, with the world of the internet breathing down everyone’s necks, it is hard to keep it separated from our own viewpoints as well. Which is upsetting because for so many of us, Harry Potter still means the world to us and we want to enjoy it.

So what do we do? Honestly, I wish I knew. I wish there was an answer to what to do to keep it all separated but we have to figure that out for ourselves.
