Harry Potter and the Avengers: How one character reminded us of the series
There isn’t much about the Harry Potter series that also applies to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but there is one character that does link back to the world of Potter.
When the characters of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame had to go to Vormir to get the Soul Stone, one thing became abundantly clear: The keeper of the Soul Stone looked exactly like a dementor from the Harry Potter series.
A floating figure in a black cloak who is in charge of something to do with souls? Seems eerily the same. Sure, we know that the keeper of the Soul Stone is actually Johann Schmidt, the Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger but still, the design of him looks very much like those who keep the prisoners of Azkaban in their place.
So, maybe we want to find a connection to the Potter series because many of us are fans of both but also it is a little funny that both the dementors and the keeper of the Soul Stone look similar and have to deal with souls. Again though, it is just a fun connection for us who happen to be a fan of both series because it feels like we can connect them back to our other favorite thing.
The dementors may be a terrifying figure in the Harry Potter series and we may fear what they represent but at least we can have jokey connections like this one!
