How the Harry Potter series showed all of us fans what it means to be a hero
There is a lot about the Harry Potter series that we can’t even begin to understand but one of the most important aspects of it is how we were able to find ourselves in the series.
Maybe it was because Harry Potter was looking at his own life and trying to understand it or maybe it was just that we were all young when we started to read the series but there is something very special and very much ours about the Potter series.
For many of us, this series was our first franchise that was entirely ours. For so many years, we had to learn of our families nerdy things or appreciate something that someone else showed us but, with Harry Potter, it was totally our generations. So we tend to find our identity throughout it. Maybe because it is ours and ours alone but still, there is something in the series that makes us understand our own desires and love for the series as well as why we all flocked to Hogwarts.
It’s a beautiful thing to look at now, see why we love Harry and all his friends and how we still relate to the series but it is also was a part of us for so long. We were Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, or Slytherins and we were proud of that and so, unsurprisingly, we found ourselves through the series and in these characters and it is totally okay for us to love it so much.
