There were a lot of supernatural beings as professors or adults in Harry Potter’s life

From Lupin to Sirius and everyone in between, it seems as if Harry Potter had a lot of adults in his life with big connections to the supernatural world. Or they were werewolves.

Harry Potter himself was a wizard but that doesn’t mean he didn’t know other supernatural beings while he was growing up! From his godfather being an animagus to Remus Lupin being a werewolf, there were plenty of characters in Potter’s life that were connected to the supernatural.

But why were they not focused on more? We have so much information about the human politics of this series but then you look at someone like Remus Lupin and the struggle he had with cope with with being a werewolf. Instead, we just got a lot of “my family is entitled to this because we’re pure blood” and, while fun, not exactly the most interesting part of the series.

To be quite honest, that might be why we love characters like Remus Lupin so much. Because we want to learn more about him. He struggled throughout his life, trying to cope with everything, and, in doing that, ended up becoming the kind of character that we begged to know more about. So while Harry Potter knows quite a lot about the supernatural beings of his world, he doesn’t get to really understand their struggles as much as we, the audience, would like to.

It’d just be nice to look at these beings and see what they go through and not see their ‘saviors’ in Harry and Newt.
