Harry Potter and television: The benefit a having a Harry Potter series take place on HBO

We’ve often thought about what it could be like to have the Harry Potter series on television but what if we got a series on something like HBO for the Boy Who Lived?

There is something dark and twisted about a show on HBO and if you apply that to the Harry Potter series, we’re seeing something even darker than we got with the movies and the novels. Which is maybe what we need if we’re going to make any kind of show about the Potter series.

The thing is, this is a story that is already super dark and when we apply it to a network like HBO, the possibilities are endless for what kind of things the series can really do. We don’t necessarily need a Potter story filled with sexual scenes but it could give us the freedom to actually look at the darker parts of the series and not have to fear of getting into it.

There are so many layers to the Harry Potter franchise and the movies, while great, couldn’t get into everything in the books because of the limited amount of time the movies allowed for us to explore. So we, as fans, missed quite a bit of stuff. Then again, maybe just a darker Harry Potter series is what we all need now that the movies are done and we’re still making the Fantastic Beasts movies but we’ll have to wait and see if we ever get anything like or if they’ll even remake the series in general.
