Crowley versus Barty Crouch Jr.: How David Tennant brings them both to life
David Tennant is a brilliant actor but it is fun to compare some of his iconic characters to each other and now that Good Omens is out, it’s fun to see how Crowley would pair up against Barty Crouch Jr.
Crowley is a beautiful character and while he is nothing really like Barty Crouch Jr. they do have one thing in common: David Tennant! The actor who gave us so man fun characters is part of the Harry Potter series but he wasn’t there for too much of it.
Barty Crouch Jr. is in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but he is Mad-Eye Moody for most of the story so we only got to see a bit of David Tennant in the movie. And now, with Good Omens, we’re seeing him in all his demonic glory and we have to ask ourselves whether or not we missed out on a glorious part had David Tennant gotten more screen time.
That being said, the characters are quite different. Barty Crouch Jr. is a Death Eater and devoted to Voldemort but Crowley had a good part of himself still intact. That was what made him such a great character. So yes, they both have the ability to be these great characters who are completely different but then, at the same time, they don’t really have anything in common other than David Tennant.
He’s just a brilliant actor who can bring all these characters together in a fun and exciting way and we all love to watch him work!
