Adults can be kids about things and be nerdy, especially when it comes to Harry Potter. We don’t have to just forget everything we’ve always loved because it is deemed too ‘childish’.

Harry Potter, as a series, helped many of us when we were growing up. Whether it is through connecting with other kids or just escaping from our lives for a while, many of us turned to the series to make us laugh and remind us why we loved magic so much in the first place.

So why is it suddenly childish to still love the series? You don’t tell men to grow out of their sports teams or yell at people for liking something that is deemed ‘adult’ but liking Potter is childish? We grew up with this series. We read it since we were kids. So now we have to pretend like we’re not as into it?

No thank you. We deserve to love Harry Potter and all his friends just as much as we did as kids. We can love it and celebrate it because we saw this series rise and grow and become a masterpiece. Now, that doesn’t mean we’re the same kids who read the series when we were growing up, but it does mean that we don’t have to apologize for loving this series most of all.

Harry Potter keeps giving us content and that means that we can keep loving everything that comes out for it. It’s how everything works in this world and we shouldn’t have to apologize for it.
