The perks and downfalls of being a ghost in the world of Harry Potter

Sometimes, the ghosts of the Harry Potter series are the best parts of the entire franchise. So we’re looking at why they’re the best and most tragic characters.

Ghosts and ghouls are prominent in all different aspects of the Harry Potter series but that doesn’t mean that that they’re all bad. In fact, most of the ghosts are characters that we loved learning about throughout the series. The problem is that they had terribly sad lives that we learned about through brief moments.

Look at Nearly Headless Nick. He is stuck within the walls of Hogwarts and his only friends are the children who come and leave and the other ghosts throughout the castle. That can’t be the best of lives and he doesn’t really have a chance to escape it. All the ghosts are there because of their time on earth but that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy either.

Peeves is having the time of his life, running around and thriving while Nearly Headless Nick does love being Gryffindor’s house ghost. I think they are characters who we could have learned so much more about because, while they do interact with our favorite characters, that’s about all we know about them.

Maybe they are tragic because we don’t know their history. Or maybe they’re just sad because of the situations they found themselves in while alive. Whatever the case may be, it is wonderful to see the ghosts shine throughout the Potter series and it would be nice to know more about them. Come on, Fantastic Beasts, let us know more about Nearly Headless Nick!
