Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Toronto cast will soon be decided

The cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Toronto will soon be decided as auditions for the Wizarding World production are about to get underway.
So, first of all, if you didn’t hear the amazing news, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is expanding once again and this time it is heading to Toronto. The announcement that the Wizarding World production would be coming to North America was made towards the end of May, with the premiere set to take place in October 2020.
Now we have learned that auditions for the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are about to get underway. Submissions to audition for one of the many roles where being accepted until June 13, with auditions to begin from June 17. According to Narcity.

An opening casting call was made, meaning all of the roles for the production are currently empty. So pretty much the roles of the Golden Trio, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger have yet to be filled.
So, if you popped in an application to audition, you could be stepping into the shoes of one of the most well known and loved characters of all time.

A minimum criteria has been set for each of the roles, so not just anyone can play Harry Potter. For example; the stage production is set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. So, they couldn’t have a teenager filling the role, that would look pretty weird.

Which is why they have a casting call out stating anyone who wanted to audition for Harry Potter had to be between the ages of 37 – 40 and Male. All of the other roles had similar criteria. Ages had to be similar to where the characters are in the Wizarding World timeline during Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and of the same sex.
How long it will be until we hear who has been cast for Cursed Child Toronto is unclear. With the production premiere well over a year away it could be some time. Whoever it will be we are sure they will be amazing. As soon as we do hear who it is though we will be sure to let you know.
